Water New Zealand Membership information

.

WHAT ARE THE MEMBERSHIP TYPES? - EXPLANATION

There is a common misconception that employees of corporate members of Water New Zealand automatically become members of the Association. This is not the case.

Corporate
Corporate’ membership applies to the organisation. One staff member (nominated at the time of joining) joins as a member of Water New Zealand on behalf of the organisation. This allows the organisation a single vote in the Water New Zealand Board elections and all other benefits of individual membership.

The organisation can register any staff member/s to be members of Water New Zealand under the ‘corporate additional’ membership category. Each ‘corporate additional’ member joins at a reduced fee and is entitled to the same benefits as individual members.

Corporate Additional
(Must be a staff member from a “corporate” member organisation of Water New Zealand).

Corporate additional members are entitled to the same rights as individual members including voting rights. The joining fee is at a discounted rate and is paid for by your employer.

Individual Member
If your employer does not wish to sign you on as a corporate additional member you may join as an individual member on payment of the current individual membership fee.

As a matter of policy, Water New Zealand requires that membership of the Association is a condition of appointment to any of its standing committees.
